As a duly elected Member of the New York State Democratic Committee for the 6th AD, I am pleased to announce that yesterday, Thursday, July 09, 2015, the Democrats United to Reform Islip team submitted petitions containing over 2,900 signatures for six candidates that mark a unique, without precedence, declaration of the need for diversity, change, and, above all, reform for the Town of Islip government.
For the first time in history, five of the six candidates are of Hispanic origin:
Jorge Guadron for Town Clerk
Nitza Franco for Receiver of Taxes
Miriam Ventura for Councilmember
United we are strong!
United we stand to reform Islip!
